Good Samaritan Home & Aged Care Pty Ltd (ABN 71 703 034 708) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information, including health information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and our obligations under aged care legislation.
What we collect
We collect information needed to deliver safe care: your name and contact details, date of birth, Medicare and My Aged Care details, health and medication information, care preferences, emergency contacts and representatives, and records of the services we provide. For workers and applicants, we collect qualifications, screening checks and employment records.
How we use it
To assess, plan, deliver and review your care; to communicate with you, your representatives and your health providers; to meet our legal and funding obligations; to manage incidents, feedback and complaints; and to improve our services. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
Only where necessary for your care or required by law: your GP and treating health professionals, My Aged Care and government agencies, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, emergency services, and contractors bound by confidentiality. We will ask for your consent before sharing with family members or others unless you have already nominated them as a representative.
How we protect it
Records are held in secure, access-controlled systems. Staff are trained in privacy and confidentiality, and access is limited to those who need it for their role. We retain records for the periods required by law and destroy them securely afterwards.
Website and enquiries
Information you send through this website is used only to respond to your enquiry. We may use standard analytics to understand how the site is used; this does not identify you personally.
